Minecraft crazy success was not without problems, one of which was that the source game was written on Java. Some players still prefer this version for a number of reasons, but for many years the “standard” version of the game is the Bedrock version, which in 2017 was renamed Minecraft.
The differences are very important for all involved in Minecraft, and the most important of them is that the Java version is easier to modify. Regardless of how you play, such a division has always had one very unpleasant feature of a PC: in fact, you had to buy both games separately. Now Mojang and Microsoft announced that from today, June 7, two versions of the game were combined in Minecraft: Java and Bedrock Edition for PC.
Players who already have one of the versions of the game will be updated to the publication with a double set. Mojang says that a complete update may take several days, but a new set will automatically appear in Minecraft Launcher over the next few days.
The message on the Mojang blog announcing the change, it is said:
To make it clear, Java and Bedrock will remain separate games with their distinguishing features. The only difference is that now you get both by default when buying Minecraft for a PC with Windows and get access to them from the same launch program.
